Following are Southern California Scheduled events:

Africa Travel Association Secretariat presents two annual events which provide the course for Africa’s tourism.

             1. The Presidential Forum on Tourism  ATA’s high profile U.S. event offers Africa’s leaders, Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers of Tourism an opportunity to present their country’s tourism position.  The Forum is conducted in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly Meetings each September, and hosted by the New York University-Africa House.

 

             2. U.S.- Africa Seminar on Tourism —  industry signature event held in Washington D.C. in conjunction with the African Union Commission as part of a leading travel trade show, attracting senor tourism industry professionals and diplomatic representatives of Africa's North, South, East and West.  Participants explore the growth trends of Africa's tourism - attendees include the U.S. State Department, USAID, World Bank, IMF and other major government and financial quarters—travel agents, tour operators and all within the tourism and travel industry are invited to contribute their input.

and educational presentations at the same level as ATA members.

Text Box: Outreach Speakers Program—SoCalATA members, both front-line travel agents and tour operators provide “Destination Africa” presentations to community based organizations, as well as schools, per their invitations.  This program is SoCalATA direct outreach community effort to provide qualified information about travel to and in Africa.

DESTINATION AFRICA” Dinner/Seminars— SoCalATA hold several “Destination Africa” dinner/seminars during the year.  These are typically hosted in part by visiting Ministries of Tourism and their Tourism Boards—all ATA members, as well as ARTA, ASTA, APTA, CLIA, IATAN members are invited.  An Event currently being planned is:
